Following the success of South Cambridgeshire Liberal Democrats in May this year, we are planning to replicate this success across East Cambridgeshire in 2019.
Could you be one of our candidates, or do you know somebody who would make a good candidate?
All candidates, including sitting councillors, must be approved before they can be selected. Approval is not difficult; it is simply us making sure that all our candidates are fit and proper people to represent their local community and the Lib Dems. If you are new to standing for office, you will get training and support from more experienced candidates and councillors.
The application form is designed to help us get to know you. We are fully supportive of all diversity issues and these will not affect your application in any way, but it is useful for us to be aware of any additional needs you may have or any LGBT status.
If you need any adjustment in order that you can attend an approval interview, please let us know with your application.
You must be at least 18 years of age, eligible and registered to vote in local elections and resident or working in the area to stand for election. More details are on page 8 of the 'Be A Councillor' guide.
